Simple Installation
To install, nail the plastic snap track to the door jamb and wall, using the supplied tool to get the desired reveal, either flush or ¼”. The track does not need to be mitered, it is simply cut square. After installing the sides and head track, cut the Snap-On-Trim aluminum to length for the two sides, mitering the outside corners. Note the deep groove on the inside of the casing must face away from the door or window jamb. Starting at the bottom of each piece, snap the casing onto the plastic track, either with your hand or a soft mallet. Stop snapping when you are about 1’ from the top of each piece, and leave the upper part of the side casings unsnapped.
Mark and cut the head casing with a miter on each end. Insert corner braces into the slot on the top of the head casing. Align the corner braces with the slots on the outside of the side casings, and tap the head casing down onto the side casings. Use a small amount of CA adhesive at the joint, taking care to immediately wipe off any extra. Snap the head casing and upper ends of the side casing into place.
